Trustee Mark Collins


Since his first term as Trustee starting in 2009, Mark Collins has overseen and served as community liaison to the essential Niles Township Food Pantry. He has been instrumental in plotting the evolution of the Pantry in response to the growing needs of the community for more than 10 years.

As Niles Township Trustee, he helped craft and initiate the Niles Township College Scholarship Fund in conjunction with Oakton Community College, and created the Breakfast Bar Program to address the issue of food insecurity within our schools.

Trustee Collins, who has the longest tenure on the Board, continues his many roles as an avid sponsor and volunteer in multiple school activities. He is a well-known spokesperson for various community organizations including Niles Township’s local Chambers of Commerce, schools, and a diversity of other groups and businesses. He represents Niles Township throughout our communities at various functions and gatherings.

Extremely active in his community and very passionate about educational opportunities for all, Trustee Collins served as Vice President of Legislation on the School District 69 PTA Board from 2001 to 2006 and as a member of the Advisory Commission on Human Services for the Village of Skokie.

He also has contributed to the Education Foundation, serving on the Board, as well as being a member of the Skokie Hospital Advisory Board.
