Janice A. Cichowlas is an experienced profit and not-for-profit leader, skilled in building coalitions, developing and implementing new programs or start up businesses, teaching and analyzing legal policy and public initiatives. The majority of her career life,she has been focused on aging/gerontology issues, community education development, health care, and community process with a focus on grassroots involvement. In the recent past,she worked full time at the IL Department on Aging as a Policy Analyst, and at the Quality Improvement Organization for Medicare in IL as a Quality Improvement Manager.
Janice serves on the AgeOptions Advisory Council (Area Agency on Aging for Suburban Cook County), and Niles Township Food Pantry Foundation Board of Directors. She obtained her B.A. from Michigan State University, J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and received her Ph.D from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ.
Janice is a mother of eight children (including two stepchildren, plus one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law) who live all across the country including Phoenix, Reno. Las Vegas, El Paso, Orem UT and Addison IL. So far, she has one granddaughter and twin grandsons. Dr. Cichowlas was appointed as Trustee of the Niles Township Government Board in 2014.
