Donald J. Gelfund , grew up in Skokie and graduated from Fairview South, Niles West, and Bradley University. Don has been a Realtor® since 1989 and is licensed with RE/MAX Villager, and was elected to Niles Township Government in 2009. Don developed and oversees the youth scholarship programs that help working families with day care costs and assists them by supplementing summer camp fees within the local park districts. Prior to serving on Niles Township Government, he was a member of Lincolnwood’s 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board for two years and served as Chairman of the Traffic Commission from 2015 to 2017. Don was Lincolnwood’s 2015 Madeleine Grant Volunteer of the Year recipient and continues his commitment to the community by being involved with Lincolnwood Fest, a 4-day carnival and concert festival, and antique car show which benefits Lincolnwood Parks. A lifelong car buff, he represents our Township by driving his vintage Oldsmobile convertible in the annual Lincolnwood Memorial Day Parade and the Skokie and Morton Grove 4th of July Parades. He and his wife Lauren live in Lincolnwood.
