Bonnie Kahn Ognisanti moved to Skokie in 2007 with her husband Michael. She is the proud mother of three children. She is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University. She is the co-owner of the film production company Harmonic Media. She is a strong believer that social and political participation lies at the heart of strong communities.
Ms. Ognisanti is a former process art and preschool teacher. Applying her passion for mentoring children, she serves as a Girl Scout troop leader. She also teaches English to immigrant children through the organization RefugeeOne. An avid gardener, she volunteers at the Jane Stenson Elementary School Community Garden, where she combines her knowledge of plants with her joy of teaching. Furthermore, she works on various committees on the School District 68 PTA Board. Believing that children learn citizenship through action and witness; she and her eight year old daughter, volunteer weekly at the Niles Township Food Pantry.
With the support of her three siblings, Ms. Ognisanti founded the Sandra Kahn Cartwright Hospice Residence Fund to honor her mother in 2016. The Cartwright Fund helps those in need of Hospice who cannot afford services.
